Irish Night

Irish Night—Row On for Brendan is a lively performance of Irish music and dance held as a tribute to Brendan Foley, who brightened the halls of Central Catholic High School, rowed for the school, and left the world a better place for his 15-and-a-half years of life. Thanks to the grace and generosity of Brendan’s family and friends, Irish Night is also the principal fund-raiser for Central Catholic Crew. Proceeds are shared with Oakland Catholic Crew, where Brendan’s sister, Emma, rowed while a student at Oakland Catholic High School from 2005-2009.

Irish Night allows Central Catholic Crew and Oakland Catholic Crew to purchase new rowing shells and oars each year to accommodate their growing programs and replace aging equipment. Now, Irish Night is in its 14th year, and over the past 13 years, Irish Night has raised more than $180,000 for Central Catholic Crew. In 2009, Irish Night raised $32,000, and the concert's proceeds were shared with Oakland Catholic Crew for the second time. Irish Night—Row On for Brendan is a proud tradition that allows Central Catholic Crew and Oakland Catholic Crew to continue to form lasting influences in the lives of the young men and women they train.
